Become a Member

Our credit union is for people, not for profit!

To join you must complete a membership form and provide two separate forms of evidence to confirm your identity and address details.

How do I Join?

To be eligible for membership of Greater Govan Credit Union you must be living or working within our common bond area.

To open an account you’ll need the following:

  • Proof of your Identity. (Passport, drivers license, HMRC Letter or Notification or DWP Letter or Notification.)
  • Proof of your Address. (Missive, recent council tax bill, bank statement etc. NO TELEPHONE BILLS OR CONTRACTS CAN BE ACCEPTED)

There is a £5.00 joining fee to cover administration costs.

Juvenile Members

Juvenile members can join GGCU free of charge and can start saving from birth. The only ID required for a juvenile membership is a birth certificate.

Please note: Juvenile members are not able to borrow against their shares until they reach the age of 18, which is the legal age for borrowing money.
